Vial Inspection Solution

BWI Inex of Clearwater, Florida, has recently supplied Hoescht with its second PharmaVision Vial Inspection system. A third delivery is scheduled for later this year. The system was specifically designed by BWI so that Hoescht could detect minute glass particles that may have been introduced prior to filling. Since the particles are very small, typically 0.2mm, sophisticated lighting and optics were needed. Based on cutting edge camera and imaging technology, the PharmaVision system can identify particles in the base of a variety of vials from 15ml to 100ml in size, while ignoring glass forming anomolaies. Up to 600 vials/min can be checked. The machine's design features laminar air flow and aerodynamic styling to ensure that a sterile environment is maintained.
