Vetropack Group Grows In New Markets

Vetropack's history dates back to 1911 when the St Prex glassworks was founded on the shore of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Henri Cornaz, direct ancestor of the current Vetropack CEO Claude Cornaz, established the plant, which is still producing packaging in green and amber glass. The Vetropack company is still owned partly by the Cornaz family, but 40% of the shares are held publicly and are listed on the secondary market of the Swiss stock exchange. The company has expanded eastwards to take advantage of growing markets in Eastern Europe and has introduced new technology to plants it has acquired to improve production. Its consulting arm, Vetroconsult, offers engineering and support services worldwide.
