Vetropack - First Half 2006 Profits Down

Swiss glass packaging manufacturer Vetropack Holding AG, posted a consolidated profit of US$ 12.7M for the 1H 2006 (US$18.7M), the company said on 1 September 2006. The company attributed the fall to the sharp rise in energy and raw materials prices, the exceptional costs related to the acquisition of Ukrainian Gostomel Glass Factory in February 2006, and production losses at the company's plant in Saint-Prex, in the Swiss canton of Vaud, due to maintenance work.
