Vesuvius To Close Manuel Refractories

Vesuvius, the refractories division of industrial materials group Cookson Group PLC, is closing its Scotland-based Manuel Works bricks and monolithics plant as part of a company-wide restructuring. It is reported that the decision to close the works and relocate to Poland was partly due to falling export sales, of which some 60-65% of production from Manuel Works goes for export.
