An offer was due to have been made to the trustees of bankrupt glassmaker Verlipack, in connection with the relaunch of its site in Jumet, Belgium, according to the press. However, the potential buyer reportedly wanted a week's delay before finally confirming interest. As for the Mons/Ghlin factory, the continued delay in the arrival of an offer from the Goossens/Boitte consortium began to prompt doubts about its credibility as a possible buyer, the report said. The identity of another candidate was expected to be revealed at the end of July and this unknown party is thought to be close to Saver Glass, the new French Verlipack/Mol shareholder. It was also believed that an offer for Jumet could soon be made by Bernadette Del Re, who is currently involved in the telecommunications sector through partneships with Chinese companies.
