Uv Absorbing Sheet Glass Launched

Earlier in the year Corning launched a newly developed UV absorbing sheet glass, Pyres-UV-Plus. This is a transparent, colourless sheet glass with a sharp UV cut off which virtually eliminates all UV C B, and A. The UV absorption is inherent in the glass and is not achieved through coating. It therefore provides uniform UV protection, independent of angle of incidence and without wear or pinholing. Other benefits include maximum light transmittance throughout the visible to the near infrared range and the ability to be used at high temperatures. It can also be chemically strengthened for improved thermal shock resistance, unlike coated glass. For further information please contact Corning SA, France on fax: +33 1 6422 8437.
