Use Of Materials From The Kursk Magnetic Anomaly Region In The Production Of Medical Containers

A possibility to use raw materials from the region of Kursk magnetic anomaly - quartzite sandstones - for the production of medical containers was studied. Attention was also paid to dust from electrofilters of a metallurgical plant which could be used as an unconventional colourant for brown apothecary containers. It was found that properties of experimental glasses based on quartzite sandstone were almost the same as properties of common industrial glasses. Also, colouration of glass melt using dust from electrofilters offers good prospects.
