[Usa] Pilkington - Solar Project In Northwood; Grants To Help Offset Cost Of Work

Pilkington North America Inc, has announced that it will install a US$ 1.4M solar array at its plant in Northwood, to supply power to its R&D facility, partially thanks to a state and federal grant that will compensate for almost 50% of the cost. According to Gov. Ted Strickland, the 3,450-panel project, scheduled for installation Autumn 2010, is among 25 alternative energy projects in Ohio that will share over US$13M in federal stimulus money. The 250-kilowatt solar field is to be built on a former brownfield.
