Wine bottle manufacturer Owens-Brockway Glass Container will consolidate 4 Californian warehouses (3 in East Bay & 1 in Sacramento) into a single distribution center in Fairfield, Collier's International announced 15/11/06. The firm's newly leased central distribution warehouse at 5195 Fermi Drive will be made up of warehouses in Antioch, Hayward, Oakland & Sacramento. The new 56,411sq/m location will place the Ohio-based bottler close to Napa & Sonoma counties & Interstate 80. The building has 30" high ceilings with 4 docks, which would increase the company's cubic volume. Although Brooks Pedder of Collier's Int declined to give the amount of the 10-year lease on the warehouse vacated by Saint Gobain, it is estimated to be $25.5M. Saint Gobain is moving into a new 102,193sq/m facility in Fairfield, City Manager Kevin O'Rourke said.
