[Usa] A Lot Of Bottle

A "Bigger, Better Bottle Bill" has been launched in New York State that adds on a 5-cent refundable deposit to bottles containing water and other non-carbonated beverages. Previously, only carbonated drink bottles were covered by the scheme. It also allows for 80% of unclaimed deposits on beverage bottles - a projected US$115M annually - to go into the State's general fund. Up until now, all unredeemed deposits were kept by the beverage industry.
