[Usa] Flat Glass Sees A Positive Turn

After several years of a down construction market, American trade journal, USGlass, is seeing a positive turn ahead for the US commercial glass industry. In their first annual USGlass industry usage forecaset, they are seeing positive indicators on the horizon in most areas of commercial construction for 2012. USGlass compiled the data using its own research, and plans to keep trock of thie data annual in future years. The most positive commercial increase in the year ahead appears to be in the area of warehouses, predicted to be up 17.6% over 2011. Data shows that around 2M sq/ft glass will show up in warehouses in 2012, compared with 1.7M in 2011. Glass in htels is projected to grow 17.1%, using 4.1 M sq/ft glass in 2012, compared with 3.5M in 2011. Stores built in the US are expected to project an increase in glass usage of 2.5%, up half a million square feet from 2011. USGlass's data projects that approximately 20.8M sq/ft glass will be used in stores across the US, up from 20.3M in both 2010 and 2011. They expect the construction of manufacturing plants to remain level in 2012, with a slight increase of 7.1%, from 1.4M sq/ft of glass to 1.5M.
