[Usa] Agc To Restart Idle Line

AGC Glass Company North America has announced that it plans to restart an idled production line at its Tennessee plant in the USA and reinstate 100 jobs once the line becomes operational. "We are pleased to announce our plants to restart the G1 float line. This line will be an important boost for our company as we seek to grow our glass business in N America," said Mark Ishiko, President and CEO. The G1 production line will manufacture float glass for the architectural and automotive markets. Construction on the line will begin in summer 2012 and ie expected to be complete by the end of the year. The company closed the production line in 2008, laying off around 250 people at the time.
