Us Group To Seal European Glass Business

PPG Industries' European employee works council representatives have been informed that discussions are taking place regarding the sale of PPG's European flat and automotive glass business. Prospective buyers have not been named. PPG Industries Glass has operations in France and Italy. At its Aniche site in France, it produces automotive windscreens, at Boussois it makes flat glass and toughened automotive glass and it also makes toughened glass at Donchery. In Italy flat glass, mirrors and automotive windscreens are produced at Cuneo, automotive windscreens and toughened glass are made at Roccasecca and flat glass is manufactured at Salerno. The combined units employ around 2,750 people.
