United Hungarian Glass Containers, owned by Owens-Illinois, announced it plans to carry out a Ft 3bn development in its Oroshaza (south Hungary) glass factory in June 1998. The aim of the project is to make the company competitive in both the domestic and international markets. The company's two plants, one in Oroshaza and the other in Sajoszentpeter (north-east Hungary) are to be fully modernised. As a result, production will increase by 10% and the company's annual capacity will increase from 320m to 400m jars.
