US manufacturer of high-performance ultrasonic spray coating equipment, Ultrasonic Systems has announced the release of its PV-480 system for CdTe module coating applications. According to the company, the PV-480 benefits from its proprietary, nozzleless ultrasonic spray head technology obtaining thinner, more uniform coating deposition compared to conventional spray technologies. Optimized for high-volume, in-line manufacturing, the PV-480 can process glass plates up to 48" wide at speeds of up to 6ft/ minute. The PV-480 delivers liquid coating with transfer efficiencies in excess of 90%, thanks to a traversing Ultra-Spray blade head, ideal for the application of cadmium chloride solution & anti-reflective coatings as well as other low viscosity liquids. The system can be operated both in-line or as a stand-alone process, & can be controlled via touch screen user interface.
