CGE (Continental Glass Engineering) based in Hamburg, had to struggle for almost five years with financing problems in the Ukraine before being able to successfully finish the job of planning, supplying and erecting the modern JV Ad-Zorya plant near Rovno, in December 1998. The building works for the plant initially began in 1993, based on CGE's design and engineering, but it was not until 1998 and aid from the EBRD bank that the local shortage of funds could be overcome. During the last 5 months of 1998, around 30 experts were delegated to the Ukraine under the leadership of a CGE site engineer. During this time, the plant was expanded with the addition of a third production line. The plant can produce up to 210 tons/day of glass containers with 3 lines equipped with 8-section IS machines of the latest design.
