The largest glass bottle producer in the Ukraine, the Gostomel Glass Factory, is planning to build a new facility that will enable it to produce 600,000 beer bottles per day, with the help of an Euros 13.3M loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Once the expanded facility is up and running, it will produce 220 tonnes of glass per day. The first stage of financing by the EBRD helped the company to establish itself as a major supplier of glass to the domestic market and to win clients such as Coca-Cola, Sun Interbrew, BBH and the St Petersburg-based breweries, Baltika and Vena. This latest investment now brings the EBRD's commitments in Ukraine's glass sector to a total of Euros 35.2M. (whole item)
