Uk Skills Development Drive

Siemens has joined forces with British Glass to support a programme of industry-led learning and skills development. The pair agreed to pave the way for closer skills and training collaboration across the sector. Siemens will be a core provider helping British Glass deliver quality assured apprenticeships and consultancy support in the North West and Humberside/Yorkshire regions. It will include on-the-job training and access to a four year multi-disciplined apprenticeship model. British Glass already operates the Glass Academy learning and skills development programme. The new agreement will further the aims of the programme by tailoring relevant training and apprenticeships schemes. The academy is set to offer over 350 new apprenticeships for 16-23 year olds, as well as help enhance the skills of professionals already in the industry.
