Uk Packaging Awards 2008: Plymouth Navy Strength Gin Wins Glass Packaging Catetory

The entry from London-based packaging design agency Webb Scarlett deVlam was the clear winner in the glass packaging category, creating a new premium tier to the Plymouth Gin brand. Navy Strength has its own distinct character, but builds on Plymouth's existing brand identity and core visual qualities. The angular lines of the bottle evoke the Art Deco era that was famed for newfound decadence and the cocktail lifestyle, while the decanter style builds on its rectillinear-bottle heritage. The brand typography drew on previously unused sources found in the company's archives, while the silver and gunmetal label imbues a premium quality and the red script denotes strength. The labels were produced by Gilmour & Dea of Glasgow and the bottles made by Ardagh in Sweden. The bottle has been lightweighted from previous versions.
