A three way deal has been agreed in principle between Asahi Glass Co, Corning Inc and the Samsung Group for the construction of a television glass plant in Mexico. Investment in the facility could eventually be over US$300m. Production will include both funnels and panels. The aim is to move as quickly as possible to take advantage of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the growing market in North America. (whole item)
