Turkish glass manufacturer Trakya Cam has secured loans of Euros 110M to expand. The EBRD funding will expand its product range. Trakya manufactures flat glass products with factories in Turkey, the Western Balkans, Russia, the Middle East and North Africa. A Euros 70M loan will be used to finance the construction of a greenfield production plant for flat glass in Russia's Tatarstan Region, as well as for energy efficiency investments in its Turkish operations. The second loan of Euros40M will be used to expand the capacity of its Bulgarian subsidiary which produces float glass and glassware. The subsidiary, Trakya Glass Bulgaria, is located near Targovishte. The financing for the Tatarstan factory will help reduce energy waste in buildings by increasing the supply of glass in a country with harsh winters and an ageing housing stock.
