In March 2005, the first raki to be distilled from only fresh grapes was introduced to EFE's range. Sari Zeybek was launched in 2006 and is the first raki to be double distilled in copper alembics and then matured in oak barrels. This raki picks up colour but goes completely white when water is added, like a traditional raki. The most premium raki is Turkey's first triple alembic distilled raki called "Kara Efe" and this is blended with traditional raki to create another new line, Efe Classic. Efe is now Turkey's no 2 distiller, it has ISO 220000, one of the first distilleries in the world to achieve this food safety standard. Also, Efe uses "non refillable" caps on its bottles which prevent adulteration of the contents.
