The latest 5in centre distance double gob IS machines from Emhart are now also convertible to triple gob production. In the triple gob arrangement, the machine has a centre distance of 85mm, about 3 3/8in. This makes the machine suitable for high volume production of small containers such as bottles for pharmaceuticals, perfumes and speciality drinks. Maximum height under finish for triple gob operation is 245mm (213mm for press and blow), with a maximum ware diameter of 62mm and a maximum finish diameter of 30mm (55mm for press and blow). A full range of accessories have been developed to make the conversion possible. The added triple gob capability now means that the 5in CD machine is able to operate in three modes, from single to triple gob.
