Glass bottle recycler, Toyo System Plant Co., has developed a machine that produces glass pebbles from pieces of broken glass. Because the processed glass is smooth, it can be used for decorative purposes in construction or in items of glassware. The pebbles range in size from 3-15mm and are automatically separated into three groups, depending on size. As well as cullet from broken bottles, the machine can process window glass, waste construction materials, auto glass, glass panels from photocopiers and other equipment. It can process 50kg of glass/hour.
