Through The Looking Glass

Glass has been a sustainable packaging solution for over 200 generations and is experiencing a renaissance. It is gaining favour from food and beverage manufacturers as a means to deliver on the increasing demand for innovation. Composed of abundant natural materials, it's a safe and health choice for food and beverage brands because it is chemically inert. Its impervious nature also protects and preserves its contents, which increases shelf life. As this paper explains, technologies are being developed to enhance these natural properties. The article looks at several brand names such as Evian; Jekyll & Hyde; Smirnoff and comments that Diageo have designed a unique glass structure that intuitively communicates the positioning of its product.
