Tesco Cuts Weight Of Champagne Bottles

Tesco, the supermarket giant, has recently started stocking its exclusive De Vallois champagne in a 830g bottle that is around 7% lighter than the standard 900g version. De Vallois' new bottle is the result of an initiative led by the Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC), the champagne industry body. The move, the supermarket said, is the first step in a plan by the supermarket to cut the weight of all its champagne bottles in the coming years.
