Tecoglas Acquires Zedtec

Tecoglas has taken over the Zedtec glass conditioning business from Dyson-TPM, and has set up a new company called Zedtec Ltd to facilitate the transfer. Zedtec has been trading since 1983 when it introduced the first of many forehearth systems using the patented rapid cool technology developed in conjunction with major glassmakers. This technology uses air dampers to control heating and cooling, rather than the mechanical dampers used previously. Tecoglas has been based in Sheffield since 1996 but traces its roots back to the 1940s. Zedtec's operation will join its new sister companies Tecoglas and KTG Engineering, also in Sheffield. It will continue to trade in its own right but can now extend its business into new areas of the glass industry. (whole item)
