Technology Helps To Streamline Production Processes

Johnson Radley has been adopting new technology with the aim of streamlining its production processes. The company has introduced an ISDN link to its design department and this has become an effective way of receiving plot files of customers' mould drawings over high-speed telephone lines. Files received in this way are plotted onto paper so that they can be annotated with instructions for production departments by the company's own design staff. This can now take as little as two hours. It also means that clear "first generation" drawings can be received. The company is also planning to set up an e-mail system.
