The Toxics in Packaging Clearinghouse (TPCH) was formed in 1992 to promote the Model Toxics in Packaging Legislation. Toxics in packaging laws prohibit the intentional use of any amount of four heavy metals in packaging – lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium. The organisation has a number of updates released throughout 2014 which can be download from their website free of charge: (a) NOTICE on Glass Packaging Screening Results; (b) TPCH report and (c) guidance on testing glass packaging samples; (d) Press release on testing glass packaging; (e) NOTICE on Packaging Certification Claims; (f) TPCH Research Bulletin released on inks & colorants in shopping bags; and (g) Press release on inks & colorants research.
