Tata To Buy Brunner Mond

Brunner mond is expected to be acquired by India's Tata Chemicals Group in an agreed deal. Brunner Mond is one of Europe's largest producers of soda ash, and Tata Chemicals is also a major supplier in India. The deal is subject to clearance by regulatory and competition authorities and to due diligence. Two of Brunner Mond's major shareholders are negotiating to sell their holdings to Tata, which would give Tata majority control. Tata Chemicals is trying to expand its services globally. Brunner Mond recently won three health and safety awards in British Glass' GLASS Charter Scheme.
