The development of glass lenses for automotive headlights has changed substantially in recent years following designers trends with regard to car front style and technical aspects such as improved headlight optics. The technologies related to glass processing have largely followed such guidelines while taking into account the requirments of mechanical strength, thermal resistance, weather and, last but not least, weight reduction.
