A Study Into The Interaction Of Improted Wine Bottles And The Uk'S Cullet Supply

This study was commissioned by WRAP, which was established to promote sustainable waste management. WRAP identified that the trade in wine was a major contributor to the domestic waste stream and colour imbalance. The study has quantified these contributions and analysed the implications of various actions that could be encouraged to improve the utilisation of waste glass; in particular those measures that would allow the glass to be recycled through the melting furnace, which is considered to be the best environmental option.
