Waterford Wedgwood is to close its Stuart Crystal factory at Stourbridge and will transfer production to their Waterford Wedgwood factories across Europe. The firm started to import crystal from the Continent in 1992. The move follows a strategic review after the September 11 attacks on the USA which added to existing pressures from weakening economic conditions. (whole item)
