The glass industry received one of the top prizes at the Starpack Industry Awards held in London in May. A Gold Star award was presented to the Coca Cola Company and Ardagh Glass in the environmental category sponsored by WRAP. This award for pack optimisation was for the ultra lightweight Coca Cola bottle, which was designed by the Coca Cola Company and manufactured by Ardagh Glass. Other awards presented during the evening included Best Food Design, for which a Silver award went to Beatson Clark for its square Oxo stock bottle. Zigguart Brands and Quinn Glass were also awarded Silver in the Best Drinks Design category for the PepsiCo RAW bottle. Allied Glass was also recognised in this category for its 700ml glass bottle produced for Famous Grouse whisky.
