Standard Cullet

Standards are to be set for raw glass cullet in Britain. WRAP has taken the first steps towards creating a British Standards Institute specification for cullet, to be published this summer, to harmonise the current diverse specifications used by reprocessors and waste glass suppliers. Waste glass collectors have had problems because different reprocessors use different specifications for their cullet. The standard will include raw cullet specifications of different grades for mixed colour and colour-separated materials, levels of contamination, and guidance on collection best practice.
