[Sri Lanka] Post-War Demand Raises Piramal Profits

Priamal Glass has reported a return to profits in the year ending March 2011 amid strong local demand following the end of a war. The company confirmed annual profits of 578M rupees (from a loss of 61M/rupees in previous year). Local sales rose by 0.8BN rupees, while exports dropped by 0.1BN. "With peace being restored in the region, the domestic market contributed significantly during the year under review," the company said in a statement.
