A plant which is set to revolutionise the way that cathode ray TV sets (CRT) are recycled is almost ready for opening. Nulife Glass has created 30 jobs at the plant in Salford. Once up and running, it will recycle 2000 CRT's a day. There are ever-growing numbers of CRTs being thrown away as people upgrade to the latest flat screen models. Nulife Glass founder Simon Greer has spent the last 14 years working on a technique to recycle screens. It comprises a unique emission-free furnace technology that produces clean glass and lead. He said: "This process allows you to crate usable products, here in the UK, so there is no need to ship this material abroad. Potential buyers from all over the world are coming to visit our plant."
