Spain Increases Glass Recycling By 14% In 2007 And Over 50% In Five Years

According to a study by Ecovidrio, the Spanish glass recycling association, glass recycling in Spain has increased by 14% in 2007 and over 50% in the last five years. It attributes this increase to the efforts of the public, authorities and companies over recent years. This significant increase in glass recycling means that over 56% of all glass packaging can be collected. This brings Spain closer to the 60% target for the end of 2008 set in its regulations but a major effort is required.
