Spain - Glass Packaging In Greater Demand

The Spanish glass industry's turnover rose by 1.8% to Ptas 89,437m in the financial year 1999, according to ANFEVI, the Spanish glass packaging manufacturers' federation, which represents 98% of Spanish producers. Turnover rose by 22.5% over the last five years. In 1999, a total of 5,577m glass bottles and containers were sold. The highest growth rate was recorded in wines and spirits, the areas in which glass is traditionally predominant. Top of the range foods for export are also being packaged in glass. (whole item)
