[Spain] Ecovidrio: New Figure For Reduction Of Spanish Co2 Emissions

Ecovidrio, the organization that manages container glass recycling in Spain, said on 16 May 2008 that thanks to the recycling of glass through collection bins, the country cut CO2 emissions by 377,343 tonnes in 2007, up 36,000 tonnes on 2006. "Through the simple action of separating bottles and jars to take to collection bins, we can cut energy consumption, save raw materials, diminish the amount of refuse for land fill and lower air pollution", Ecovidrio said.
