Solving The Problems Of Shear Spray Lubrication

Shear spray lubrication and cooling is almost always done with a soluble oil mixed with water. The mixture obtained usually produces a white translucent emulsion. While they are efficient coolants, such products have many well-known drawbacks causing: Metal components oxidation; bacterial, algae and fungus growth, causing sludge and clogging filters, pumps etc; and harmful and coloured wastewater. French-based Fico Industrie is a specialist supplier of shear spray systems and lubricants for the hollow glass industry. The company's shear spray lubricants are specially designed for the lubrication and cooling of glass gob shears. They are not based on metal-working oils.
