Pilkington has agreed a contract to buy 54,000 tonnes of dense soda ash for its factories in Finland, Poland and Sweden from the Polish materials supplier Ciech. The soda ash will be delivered to Pilkington factories at Tampere in Finland, Sandomierz in Poland; and Halmstad in Sweden. Ciech estimates the value of the orders to be around 33,000M Polish Zlotych.
