Scottish & Newcastle's MD, Mr Stefan Orlowski, said that the company will formerly change its name to Heineken UK at the end of November. Mr Orlowski said: "The integration was now complete and it was time to embrace our position within the wider Heineken Group." The old name will continue to be applied to the Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company. Many Tyneside people are unhappy with the decision to axe the old Federation plant at Dunston, which has been the home of Newcastle Brown for the last 4 years and brew it in Yorkshire at John Smiths. 63 jobs will be lost during 2010. Dunston is relatively new, dating back to 1978 and apparently was only being utilised 60%.
