Slovak Firm To Build Container Plant

Sources at the closed joint-stock company Krasnoperekopsk Glass Container Factory (Crimea), say a Slovak business has expressed its intention to build a glass container facility in Krasnoperekopsk, with production capacity of 450M units/pa, which would make it one of the Ukraine's three largest plants. The choice of the construction site is explained by the presence of a raw material supplier and likely customers (ie wineries and distilleries) in close proximity. Construction could begin spring 2006. According to Serhity Honcharenko, CEO of Krasnoperekopsk Glass Container Factory, the Slovak business is ready to invest around US$50M in the project.
