[Siberia] New Glass Container Plant Built

Kommersant-Sibir newspaper reported that the building of a glass container plant by Moscow-based Klin Steklotara began on 11 September 2007 in the Omsk region. Investment in the project will reach about EUR 104M. The plant will have a capacity of 760M bottles/pa. According to Konstantin Ryabchevsky, the Commercial Director of the Russian branch of Czech Sklostroi, which prepared the project and will supply and install the equipment, the plant will work not only for the Omsk-based breweries, but also for other customers in Siberia. It will be the second glass container facility in the region: a similar plant was recently built in Omsk by Rus Steklo Association. The two facilities are very similar in capacity. They will considerably cut the deficit of high-quality containers in Siberia.
