Shuttle Takes Off For Hardys

An acrylic bottle-glass combination may revolutionise the way people drink wine, according to Hardy's, Australia's largest wine producer. The company originally developed the "Shuttle", an acrylic single-serve wine bottle with a built-in glass, for for Cirque du Soleil's Varekai in Australia. The idea proved so popular that it is now being launched on a wider scale. Each 198ml Shuttle bottle is sealed by its won acrylic glass, adding a safety benefit to the products convenience. "We believe the new technology has the potential to redefine how people drink their wines all over the world," said M Leenders, global marketing manager. The new bottles will be available on a limited basis in Australia in on-trade and retail outlets. A small number of 250ml Shuttles will also be tested in the UK under the Hardy's Stamp of Australia label.
