Sheppee Raises A Glass After Clinching Big Brewery Contract

A Yorkshire-based firm which specialises in manufacturing production line equipment for the glass industry is celebrating after winning a lucrative contract with a brewery in the Philippines. heppee International, based at Elvington, manufactures equipment which is used to make glass containers of all shapes and sizes. The £270,000 contract, for a brewer which makes bottles for San Miguel, is the latest in a string of export wins. The firm is particularly proud of its export success in a current climate which is seeing more and more manufacturing contracts outsourced to the Far East. The firm was rescued from receivership 14 years ago by a team including current managing director Jeff Yoward. The firm retained its name, a well-known industry standard, and now employs 40 people and has a turnover of £2.8m.
