Separation Unit Provides Economic Alternatives

A system for separating and collecting liquid and solid waste from contaminated process fluids has been developed by Fluid Solutions. The recently launched sedimentor is intended to provide a cost-effective alternative to conventional filters, centrifuges and cyclones. The unit uses a cleaning cassette packed with small diameter hydrodynamic tubes. In operation the tubes are positioned horizontally to give a high capacity separation area. The advantage of a short settlement distance within individual tubes is combined with that of a large collection area for separated solids of around 150m2.
