This report builds on a first edition published April/09, ranking food & beverage companies on their efforts to address BPA in product packaging. The number of companies analyzed has expanded to include major US retailers that sell private-label canned products. Scoring & analysis is based on a survey distributed to companies. Since the 2009 edition, momentum to reduce exposure to BPA has increased. New scientific & investigative reports on potential health impacts have been published, more states & localities are adopting restrictions & consumer concern is rising.The report analyzes how companies are responding to this critical issue by disclosing information, exploring substitutes & committing to phase out BPA & demonstrates a growing number of companies are proactively mitigating BPA-related risks by testing & implementing substitute packaging.
