Scotland'S First Sake Brewery

North Ayrshire Council has granted planning permission for Scotland's first Sake Brewery to be built at Dreghorn in Ayrshire. The brewery, which will include a visitor centre and research facility, is the brainchild of the Arran Brewery who recently hosted a visit by Norwegian Sake makers Nogene, Europe's first Sake producer. Plans include a bottling facility and beer hall along with a brewing school, and Brewing and distilling R&D centre as well as commercial laboratories for the drinks industry in Scotland. The site will house rotating exhibitions as well as permanent exhibitions about Japan, Brewing and Distilling.
